As the wind howled, a new break appeared in South Beach in February. While the storms have continued, the break has become more prominent. Depending on whom you ask, the break is at least four feet deep during low tide and as deep as 12 feet during hight tide. But it is difficult to determine its impact on fishing during the new season.With the fresh water coming in again from the ocean, it is difficult to determine how beneficial the new break will be to the fishing here in the Chatham area. However, so far noone is suggesting it will do anything other than make the fishing even better.
